Team Vandyke at NSEA National Finals, Hickstead

Congratulations to Team Vandyke, who rode brilliantly in exceptionally hot weather at the NSEA County Championships at the start of May half term. The team qualified for the grand finals, held at the famous Hickstead arenas, thanks to brilliant performances at various events across the year.

We had some huge success during the competition, both in individual and team events, with all our riders achieving outstanding results and winning some fabulous prizes and rosettes.

A highlight of the event was Evie being crowned National Champion in the Prelim 3 Dressage event – a fantastic achievement! Isaac also had an impressive ride in Prelim 2, coming in National 4th place, from a very large group of competitors!

In the 80/85cm showjumping, the team of Amelie, Harriet and Taija rode to Team 2nd.  Taija achieved a great individual 4th place in her clear round qualifying for the National Championships in October.

In the Inter County Open Comp, we gained an excellent Team 5th position. Evie and Taija competed at Novice and Isaac and Amelie at Prelim, with Evie securing a wonderful 4th place in her category.

In the 90/95cm showjumping event, Evie, Taija, Amelie and Harriet finished in Team 8th. Another great effort against so many schools from across the country.

Congratulations to the whole team and huge thanks to Mrs Powell, who organises all the events over the year.
