Gold DofE Award Celebration Ceremonies at Buckingham Palace

A record-breaking 24 Gold participants celebrated their tremendous achievements during ceremonies at Buckingham Palace before half term.  Students from current and previous cohorts who achieved their Gold Awards were guests of honour in the beautiful sun-filled gardens at the palace, which were transformed to create a festival feel event.

Attendees and their loved ones heard from guest speakers, including broadcaster and author Jake Humphrey, F1 commentator Billy Monger, and Olympic great (and DofE Silver Award holder) Dame Kelly Holmes MBE OLY.

His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh congratulated participants in a speech from the Palace’s West Terrace, before meeting and talking to award achievers. Evie O, a Vandyke student and UK DofE Ambassador, was delighted to speak to the Duke about her wonderful experiences over the past year and throughout her DofE journey. A huge congratulations to all, we are extremely proud of you!
