JCQ information for exam candidates 2023 – 2024

Summer 2024 written exams commence at the beginning of May – with practical exams taking place before then.  Students doing external public exams in summer 2024 need to be available up to and including Wednesday 26 June 2024, the contingency day, should any exams need to be re-arranged due to national or significant local disruption.

Students must come to all their exams with any equipment needed, including a calculator – no equipment can be handed out.

Exam pencil cases – containing a black pen, pencil, rubber, pencil sharpener, ruler, protractor, highlighter and pair of compasses – (£2) and calculators (£10.00) can be purchased from school via sQuid and should be done so in advance of exams.

Exam certificates and art/DT/photography coursework for summer 2023

(updated 29 January 2024)

Students in years 11 and 13 who did art, DT or photography in summer 2023 can now collect their coursework/exam pieces – and this needs to be done before February half term as unfortunately we do not have the space to store the work after that time.  Please give at least 48 hours’ notice (by emailing [email protected]) so that the work can be gathered together for the relevant student.

Exam certificates for students who have left Vandyke and were in year 11 and year 13 in summer 2023 are now available for collection from Vandyke.

Please complete the form below and ask the person collecting your certificates to bring this with them.  A signature is required on collection.  We will be unable to give a student’s certificates to anyone else without being given prior written permission.  Please contact the exams office and we should be able to leave them in reception for you to collect on a school day between 9am and 3pm (giving at least 48 hours’ notice).

We do not post certificates as they are valuable legal documents, so if you are unable to come and collect your own certificates, someone else may collect them on your behalf as long as they have your prior written permission.

Once you have collected your certificates, please keep them in a safe place as you may be asked for them by college/university or an employer in years to come as they are important legal documents and will be expensive to replace.

I, ………………………………………………….. (in year ……….. in 20…..), authorise …………………………………………………… to collect my exam certificates from Vandyke Upper School.

Signed: …………………………………………………………..          Date: ………………………………………………..

We still have lots of exam certificates from previous years which have not been collected:  please contact the Exams Office to check if we still have your exam certificates.  Exam certificates from previous years can be collected from Vandyke 9am to 1pm on a school day – please give at least 48 hours’ notice via email to [email protected]

Information about replacement certificates is available here.

Please contact Mrs Sharman or Mrs Scott in the Exams Office if you have any questions regarding exams at Vandyke (direct line 01525 636706, email: [email protected]).
