New Y13 Geography students head to Dorset

Our New Y13 geographers recently enjoyed a fantastic field trip to Dorset, where they gained valuable first-hand experience to support their A Level studies.

During the visit, students carried out physical fieldwork on the sand dunes at Studland, investigated coastal management strategies along Swanage Bay, and completed a ‘sense of place’ study in Swanage town.

On the final day, the group walked to the iconic Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove, rounding off the trip with fish and chips and, of course, plenty of ice cream!

Throughout the visit, students developed their understanding of the A Level Coasts topic while also practising essential fieldwork techniques that will help prepare them for their NEA investigations. It was a thoroughly enjoyable and successful trip, with students demonstrating enthusiasm, resilience and excellent behaviour throughout.
