Vandyke girls crowned champions at LTFC Football Festival

Vandyke were recently invited to attend a Football Festival held at the stadium of Luton Town FC. This special event was run and organised by the University of Bedfordshire, and was attended by hundreds of students from local schools and colleges, as well as students from the Uni of Bedfordshire itself.

We had two teams competing – our departing U18 BTEC Sport class took part in the men’s tournament, whilst a team made up of Y9 and Y10 girls competed in the women’s tournament.

Everyone really enjoyed this fantastic experience, which also included some sport science activities and the chance to have a good look round Kenilworth Road!

We’re delighted to announce that our girls’ team were crowned champions of the women’s tournament, after winning the league with an impressive eight wins and two defeats from their ten games against older opposition. Well done all – a great day!
