The sun finally shines for the Vandyke Sports Festival!

The last day of the summer term was packed with competition and excitement as all students took part in the yearly Sports Festival.

Students took part in two activities of their choosing, including football, dodgeball, netball, rounders, wacky races, and Let’s Dance! It was great to see the sun after a spell of bad weather, and everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.

The Sports Festival is the biggest house competition of the year with the most points contributing to the house competition totals. All houses were competing for first place with 1000 points up for grabs, followed by 750 for second, 500 for third and 250 for fourth.

The table had been close between Simmonds and Zephaniah all year, but all was to play for – both Turing and Seacole were capable of taking the lead with so many points up for grabs.

At the end of the day, and the end of the school year, the worthy winners were Simmonds House! Their fantastic efforts throughout the day secured them a well-deserved victory. Congratulations to everyone who took part.
