Y13 students shine in British Biology Olympiad
Congratulations to the fifteen Y13 biology students who recently took part in the British Biology Olympiad.
This national competition challenges students with an interest in biology to expand and extend their talents. The competition consists of two online multiple-choice papers, which presents students with topics and ideas which they are not familiar with, giving them a chance to demonstrate their problem solving skills and their understanding of core principles.
18,800 students from 1,132 schools across the UK participated this year, with Bronze, Silver and Gold certificates being awarded to the top students. Special congratulations go to James W and Flick H, who both secured Gold awards, putting them in the top 5% of all students who participated! An incredible achievement.
Well done to the following students also secured awards:
Silver: Ali K, Imogen C, Skye M, Stanley R and Jemima K
Bronze: Isabel W and Grace M
Special mentions also go to Evelyn H, Natalia S, Angelina G, Dawid D, Rowan H and Beth T.
We’re incredibly proud of everyone who took part in this challenging competition. You all performed exceptionally well and did yourselves – and Vandyke – proud.
