Y11 students attend Poetry Live

This year’s Poetry Live event at the Derngate Theatre in Northampton was a resounding success! Year 11 students from across the county gathered to experience powerful performances from the poets featured in the Power and Conflict anthology. Everyone approached the day with enthusiasm and curiosity, taking notes and, for the brave among them, engaging directly with their favourite poets through insightful questions.

A standout moment was the incredible performance by John Agard, who captivated the audience with a series of short form poems delivered in the voices of various animals, including a mischievous rat and a cheerful hippo.

A huge well done to all Year 11 students from Vandyke Upper School who attended! Your eagerness and engagement made the day truly memorable.
