Celebrating success at DofE Awards Evening
Always upbeat and a highlight of the DofE year, we were delighted to welcome students and their families to our special DofE Awards Evening earlier this month.
A huge congratulations to all award recipients – 105 Bronze, 42 Silver and 27 Gold. Mrs Ferguson-Moore was absolutely delighted to celebrate our students’ success alongside governors, staff and parents/carers during an evening which consisted of two events, to accommodate the large number of award holders.
Participants from across all levels reflected on their experiences and shared inspiring stories from their DofE journeys, while musicians Tommy A and Emily L each showcased their talents, playing the piano beautifully. Gold Award achiever, Evie O, was acknowledged and thanked for her enormous input to Vandyke DofE, in her roles as Young Leader and UK DofE Youth Ambassador.
To bring celebrations to a close, guest speaker Matt N highlighted the positive impact that completing all three levels of the award has had on him in the working world. We are very grateful for the time and energy Matt now gives to Vandyke DofE, regularly supporting students on Silver and Gold expeditions.
Very well done, everyone – we’re incredibly proud of all you have achieved!
