Trip to Paris
Trip to Paris
From the early hours of 11th June to 14th June, a group of our students enjoyed an unforgettable trip to Paris. Despite the very hot weather, spirits remained high throughout, with plenty of ice creams and refreshing drinks to keep everyone cool.
After arriving at our hotel on the first day, we headed straight to a local park where students relaxed, played football, card games, and enjoyed snacks they had picked up from a nearby French supermarket.
On the second day, we visited the stunning Château de Fontainebleau in the morning. Students explored the castle’s grand interiors, peaceful grounds, and beautiful gardens with their friends — and also enjoyed Mr Dodkin’s quick but fascinating history lesson about the château and its role in French history. Later that day, we embarked on a boat trip along the River Seine, taking in some of Paris’s most famous landmarks including Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Musée d’Orsay, the Pont Alexandre III, a replica of the Statue of Liberty flame, and the Louvre. That evening, we took the lift to the 56th floor of the Tour Montparnasse, where students were treated to breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
Day three was spent at Disneyland Paris, which proved to be a huge hit. Despite the hot temperatures, students made the most of the day, enjoying the rides, collecting souvenirs, and proudly wearing Minnie Mouse ears and Disney pins. The coach journeys were kept lively with Miss Beckwith’s “Introduction to French” lessons, helping students pick up (or not) useful phrases for their adventures — and a brilliant Disney karaoke session that had everyone singing along.
On our final day, we visited the Musée d’Orsay early in the morning before enjoying a packed lunch in the Jardin des Tuileries, with views of the Louvre nearby.
Throughout the trip, students were fantastic — respectful, enthusiastic and a real credit to the school. We were especially impressed by how some students confidently used their French — special mentions to Emily B, Emma W, Flick H and a lot of other students who proved that they have learnt a lot of French in their French lessons!
It was a memorable trip filled with culture, history, fun and friendship.
