Vandyke students win trophies at Rotary Technology Tournament

We recently took four teams to the annual Central Bedfordshire and Luton Rotary Technology Tournament.

The day began with the teams being given a design brief. Students were tasked with designing and building an unpowered transportation device that moved uphill. They had to plan, design, test and develop their devices, all the while maintaining a project portfolio. They then had to operate their devices in a controlled environment, under the watchful eyes of engineers from the Rotary Club, who were assessing them throughout the day.

There was a lot of positive feedback given for all four designs, and our congratulations go out to all those who took part in the challenge (see below) – you did us proud and conducted yourselves impeccably.

Special praise goes to our Senior Team A and the Intermediate Team, who both won their respective challenges, meaning Vandyke took home two of the three trophies which were up for grabs – well done, everyone!
