“We’re soarin’, flyin’…” after High School Musical

High School Musical was performed in the Vandyke Theatre on 11th and 12th December to sold out audiences. Over 70 students were involved in this high energy, high quality performance. Students rehearsed after school every Monday from mid-September and worked incredibly hard to bring the famous characters and songs to life on stage.

It is always amazing to see young people from years 9 – 13 come together to perform, learning songs, dance routines and many spoken lines, and this year was no different with students from all years taking lead roles.

This year, in addition to the two evening performances, we also had the opportunity to perform to some Year 9 students on the Thursday morning of show day. It was lovely for the Year 9s to be able to experience the show, support their friends, and have the chance to see an excellent production, which brings the school community together.

The Drama and Music departments are so proud of each and every student involved for their hard work, commitment and fantastic effort to once again make the school production a fantastic success. Miss Green said, ‘As a team, we feel so lucky and privileged to be able to work with such talented students, and we have had brilliant feedback from many people who saw the show. We would like to thank all the students involved for their hard work, and the staff who supported us behind the scenes.’
