Duke of Edinburgh’s Award

The DofE Award is a voluntary, non-competitive programme of practical, cultural and adventurous activities, designed to support the personal and social development of our students. It offers an individual challenge and encourages young people to undertake exciting, constructive, challenging and enjoyable activities in their free time.

We currently have students working towards their Bronze, Silver and Gold awards.

All the awards involve students participating in the following areas for different lengths of time, depending on which award they are working towards:

  • Voluntary work
  • Skill building
  • Physical activity
  • Expedition
  • Residential (Gold only)

Bronze registration (Y9)

Student assemblies will take place in early January 2026.  A parent/carer and participant information evening will be held in the theatre on Wednesday 21st January 2026. The year group will be divided into two, so that we can accommodate everyone:

> Seacole & Simmonds students at 5pm
> Turing & Zephaniah students at 6pm

Enrolment will follow, allowing participants to be officially registered by the start of March 2026.
