We’re looking forward to welcoming Y9 students, parents and carers to our Year 9 Options Evening on Thursday 29th January 2026. More details will be shared with you all closer to the time, both on this webpage and directly via Edulink.
In Year 9, the National Curriculum prescribes much of your timetable; however, you have now reached the point in your education where you are able to select some of the subjects you wish to study at GCSE level.
The choices that you make now are important and could affect your future opportunities including access to A-Level courses in the Sixth Form that will take you on to university. We advise you to choose a well-balanced programme of study at Key Stage 4 so that you can keep your options open for the future. This will give you greater choice as you go into post-16 courses or into work.
At the Options Evening, you will receive a copy of the 2026 Options Booklet. This booklet will provide you with information on all the various subject areas and will help you to come to the right decisions about the next stage of your education.
