Vandyke students entertain the town
On Friday 3rd November, a Sixth Form band called LIGHTHOUSE, consisting of Daniel E, Charlotte S, Adam D and Antonio B, performed at Leighton Buzzard’s laser light show.
The event itself was organised by the Leighton-Linslade Rotary Club, who wanted to host an eco-friendly alternative to traditional fireworks. The band were formed especially for the occasion and were required to perform crowd-friendly, chart-topping songs, in order to appeal to the wide array of people who would attend.
Much to the band’s surprise, they performed to a HUGE audience (more than four thousand people!) and thoroughly enjoyed entertaining them with songs such as Dancing in the Moonlight, I Want to Break Free, Sweet Caroline and Living on a Prayer, to name a few.
The band did an absolutely brilliant job with their on-stage patter and performance, and had Leighton Buzzard town captivated by their accomplished repertoire – many attendees could not believe they were still of school-age!
We are very proud of their effort, courage and professionalism at the event and they were brilliant representatives of our school. Wonderful work, everyone. Roll on next year!
