Silver DofE Award Practice Expedition

Well done to the 29 Year 11 students who undertook their Practice Expedition in The White Peaks, Derbyshire, before half term.

Teams and staff members battled with the elements throughout the three days they were away, but came away victorious! Successful training sessions, with Mountain Leaders Alan and Lee, were delivered to teams on days one and two. Compass skills and navigation techniques were demonstrated and practised – invaluable tools for any adventurer, especially when the mist is down!

Team members worked well together putting up and taking down tents in the blustery conditions, cooking meals on stoves in the evenings, and dug deep to complete challenging walking routes across the beautiful but undulating terrain of the Derbyshire Dales. Well done to everyone for their fantastic efforts.
