2019 summer exams and contingency date

For the 2019 (and future years) public exams, an exam contingency day has been arranged by the exam boards. The contingency day has been arranged for “GCSE and/or GCE examinations, should sustained national or local disruption arise during the June 2019 examination series.”

The date that has been set aside for 2019 is Wednesday 26 June. Therefore any students doing any public exams in summer 2019 need to be available up until, and including, that date.  All parents and carers need to make a note of this reserve exam date as all students need to be available on this day should an exam be re-arranged during the summer 2019 due to some event beyond our control.

EXAM CERTIFICATES – 6 November 2018

Exam certificates from the summer 2018 exams are now available for collection from the Vandyke Exams Office for last year’s year 11 and year 13 students (as well as year 12 students who have left Vandyke).

For those students who are still at Vandyke:  please come to the Exams Office to collect your certificates.

For those students who have left Vandyke:  you can collect your certificates from reception during school hours (8.30am to 3.30pm, Monday to Friday).  In order that we can ensure your certificates are available for you to collect from reception, please make sure you give at least a day’s notice before you plan to come to school to get them.   We do not post exam certificates as they are valuable, legal documents.

If you are unable to collect your exam certificates yourself and would like someone to come and collect them on your behalf, please complete the slip below and the person collecting your certificates will need to bring the slip with them to confirm that they have your authority to collect your certificates.  A signature is required on collection.

Once you have collected your certificates, please keep them in a safe place as you may be asked for them by college/university or an employer in years to come and they are very expensive to replace.

I, ………………………………………………….. (in year ……. summer 2018), authorise …………………………………………………… to collect my exam certificates from Vandyke Upper School.

Signed: …………………………………………………………..          Date: ………………………………………………..

We still have lots of exam certificates from previous years which have not been collected:  please contact the Exams Office to check if we still have your exam certificates.

Please contact Mrs Sharman or Miss Gibbs in the Exams Office if you have any questions regarding exams at Vandyke (direct line 01525 636706, email: exams@vandyke.cbeds.co.uk  ).
