Every fortnight, our art and photography department showcases the work of two students whose work has really stood out over the previous two weeks. This month, we are celebrating the work of…

Soyo K (Y10)
Soyo has been interested in portraits throughout the later part of this year and has been experimenting with a range of materials in order to develop ideas and build skills, using different media through different scales. This piece showcases her successful ability in capturing facial features through charcoal, which is no easy task. Her application creates a sense of light and expression. Fantastic portrait, Soyo!

Taylor G (Y10)
Taylor has explored people, places and objects and has combined these to create interesting and unusual outcomes that explore colour, gradients, repetition and silhouettes through Photoshop. We are very proud of the way Taylor has moved beyond his comfort zone to achieve quite technical experiments. Excellent work Taylor!

Samuel F (Y10)
Sam has explored the theme of ‘Environment’ in different places, both natural and urban. He visited Paris and took a wide variety of scenic shots to a high degree. He has focused his attention on varying compositional techniques and produced some amazing results, this monochrome shot being our favourite. Keep up the excellent work Sam!

Fern G (Y12)
Fern has explored the chosen area of ‘Urban Life and Architecture’ for her supporting work. She has created this fantastic final outcome for her project. Fern has demonstrated a fantastic combination of gouache paint and fineliner, which really leap off of the page with her abstract choice of colours. Brilliant work Fern!
