The Senior Student Team led a brilliant awareness raising campaign for the charity Young Minds. This organisation is a mental health charity for children, young people and their parents/carers making sure all young people can get the mental health support they need. It has been well publicised how the national lockdowns have impacted young people’s mental health.
The Senior Student Team wanted to encourage all students at Vandyke to discuss strategies for well-being which took place in tutor time.
They also designed a poster with useful helplines and websites to refresh the school site with this vital information.
On Friday 8th October Sixth Form students were invited to wear yellow. It was joyful seeing the Sixth Form awash with yellow – designed as a visual way for young people to offer their support to those who may be suffering from mental health issues. In doing so, they also raised £235.00 for the charity.
