Emily Scott’s Design on our School Christmas Card
At Vandyke we are always pleased to showcase our students’ work and Christmas always proves a great opportunity to highlight their artistic talents. This year the Vandyke Christmas card was designed by Year 10 student, Emily Scott, and everyone is very pleased with the end result.
Emily’s Art teacher, Mr Mitchell and Head of Art, Mr Bennett said that they chose the design because of its Christmas theme incorporating a snowflake and love hearts. Mr Bennett said, “It was very well designed and striking in appearance, intricate and individual. The piece was made with a relief reduction print, which is not an easy thing to do, especially to achieve that level of detail in the work.”
Emily was rather thrilled too, she commented, “I was really surprised to hear that my design had been chosen. Art is one of my favourite subjects, so to have my artwork appreciated by my teachers and Mr Carroll was amazing!”
