Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Success
Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Success
Congratulations to the 80 Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants from Year 10 who undertook and passed their Qualifying Expedition at the end of the Spring Term.
Various routes from Leighton Buzzard were walked to the campsite at Town Farm near Ivinghoe on day one. A circuit route was then completed on footpaths from the campsite to the Ivinghoe Beacon area, onto Tring and the waterways around Marsworth Reservoir, with teams finishing on Ivinghoe Green on day two.
It was wonderful to witness team members working so well together and demonstrating such resilience and determination to succeed. We certainly experienced four seasons in one day on the Saturday, and it was particularly cold camping overnight, but this did not dampen anyone’s spirits!
Staff volunteers were impressed with the level of participant pro-activity and positivity throughout the two-day expedition. Very well done everyone and a big thank you to the staff team involved!
