Andrew Selous MP visits Vandyke
Our local MP, Andrew Selous, visited last week. Andrew met with students to discuss students’ plans to reduce single-use plastic and recycling. Among matters discussed, students told Mr Selous about the replacement of single-use plastic cutlery in the café with disposable wooden cutlery and their cake sale to raise money for a Friends of the Earth project to promote the bee population, something dear to many students involved in our Student Voice work.
Mr Selous was impressed with the confident way that students spoke and the discussion they had with him. Mr Selous is a regular visitor to school and he was also complimentary about the ethos and atmosphere at Vandyke.
