Year 9 student and member of the Herts and Beds Army Cadet Force, Lauren Keyworth, continues to do well at Javelin and also Shot put events.  Having recently competed in the bi-annual regional ACF Sports competition.  Lauren did, in fact, win first place and a gold medal in the Javelin Throw event with a whopping 22.6 metre throw!

She said, “As an Army Cadet, you get the opportunity to take part and compete in lots of different sports and competitions.  Thousands of cadets from all over the country compete in their own regional competition and the winners are then entered in to the Nationals. It really does boost your confidence.”

Lauren was one of only four people from the Herts and Beds Army Cadet Force who went on to compete at the Nationals in Grantham, Nottinghamshire. Out of 200 competitors Lauren gained a well earned 4th place.

Lauren has now broadened her horizons by taking part in the County Competitions, representing Vandyke in the Shot put event, where she gained a hard fought 6th place.

Well done Lauren.
