Year 9 Trip to Barcelona

At 4.30am on Thursday 25th May, 55 Year 9 students and staff met at Luton Airport for a 5 day visit to a very hot and sunny Barcelona.

After a comfortable flight we arrived in Barcelona and then onto the seaside town of Salou. Students were delighted at the sight of our lovely 3* hotel, with not just one but two swimming pools.

We spent the evening settling in and enjoying the swimming. The next day started bright and early with a visit to see the amazing sights of Barcelona. The day included a  truly memorable visit to the Sagrada Familia and the Camp Nou stadium.

Days 2 and 3 were spent at Port Aventura water and theme park, a place that most students wanted to visit again as there was so much to do.

Day 4 saw a return to Barcelona and a visit the historic Poble Espanyol, an authentic Catalonian walled town with amazing views over the city. The day ended with a visit to Gaudi’s awe inspiring Park Guell.

The final day of our trip arrived far too soon and was spent on the beautiful beach in Salou for some last minute present shopping and swimming, before returning to Barcelona airport to arrive back in Luton just after midnight, very tired but with some great memories of a fantastic trip.
