LABELLED: Year 13 Performing Arts Show

The Year 13 Performing Arts class held their very last live performance on Tuesday 23rd May to a busy school  theatre. The purpose of the show was to showcase artists from the Warner Brothers record label, as well as its subsidiary labels such as, Atlantic Records, Roadrunner, Warner Chappell and Asylum, to name a few.

Fionn, Jade, Niamh, Anna and Chloe have always tried to push the boundaries with production features and decided to hang different coloured umbrellas with fairy lights hanging from them, to represent Warner Brothers as the parent ‘umbrella’ label. Huge thanks to Paul, the site agent, for climbing to great heights to hang them from ceiling for the class!

The performing arts cohort performed a range of different songs from the record labels, which demonstrated  their musicality and vocal/instrumental ability.

Standout songs for each performer were:

Niamh Jones – Heart Of Glass

Fionn Kirk – Eraser

Anna Wright – Love On The Brain

Chloe Benning – It takes Two

Jade Grosse – Shape Of You.

The class have really grown as performers and weren’t shy to have a chat with the audience and show their personalities, which the audience enjoyed.

Callum Murray, Jack Dennis and Craig Johnson also made an appearance in many songs, which supported the bigger band arrangements. Big thanks to the three of them for giving up their time to rehearse regularly and for taking part in the show.

This event was a culmination of the group’s work and they all went out with a bang. Good luck in your new adventures post-Sixth Form!
