Mr Cain encourages us to get on our bikes and get active!

As the evenings draw longer and the summer approaches, it's the perfect time to get out on two wheels.  Alice Winfield and I wanted to make use of an opportunity in assembly last week to explain how LBRCC (Leighton Buzzard Road Cycling Club) operates and to explain how young people can get involved. The club itself has now over 100 members in the town and is growing exponentially.

Alice covered the basics of road riding and racing, cyclocross and mountain biking. The friendly and diverse nature of the club was exhibited along with helpful suggestions as to how to get involved - as a novice and/or potential competitive rider.

I covered the growing appeal and accessibility of BMX racing for all ages and genders. There is  an already established club in Milton Keynes and an emerging facility in Dunstable that is likely to receive council funding if it is used more frequently.

For more information concerning being involved with LBRCC or Dunstable BMX club see myself  (Mr Cain) or Alice Winfield.  Alternatively, you could visit the LBRCC group page or the Milton Keynes BMX Racing Club group page on Facebook.

To get involved straight away, grab your bike and helmet and meet with the group outside The Black Lion pub at the bottom of the High Street on a Sunday morning at 8.30am. Alternatively, meet at the BMX track at Creasey Park, French's Avenue, Dunstable at 5.00pm on a Friday evening for a introduction into BMX racing.  Or, how about both?
