Art & Design Exhibition

Vandyke's annual art exhibition has become one of the  highlights of the summer term. It provides our many talented GCSE and A level students the perfect opportunity to display their coursework and exam pieces to family and friends, as well as local dignitaries. The standard is always high and this year has proved no exception; many of our students will no doubt emulate the success of previous years and secure places on some of the UK's top Foundation courses.

There was a wide range of work on display in response to coursework and exam themes. Students have had the opportunity to work across a broad range of disciplines including, painting, drawing, textiles, sculpture, digital media, ceramics, printmaking and multi-media. The students have truly embraced the eclectic teaching styles within the department and attacked their work with energy both practically and conceptually. Highlights of the exhibition were Amy Robert’s extraordinary biro drawings, Kyle Smith’s digital self-portrait, Hannah Hook’s beautiful silk cushion and Becky Buckman’s 3d interpretation of Tom Riddle’s diary.

‘Really, really, really, really, really, really, really good’  Evie Aggett, aged 9.

‘What an effort everyone made. So impressive’  Mrs Jeavons.

‘Such amazing work and skill seen, we  really enjoy coming to Vandyke’s exhibition’  Councillors Gordon and Carole  Perham.

This exhibition aims to celebrate the success of the Vandyke students and to congratulate those who will make their way to London and local colleges to study Art and Design at a higher level.

Keep your diary free for next year - an exhibition not to be missed!
