Parent Governor Vacancy

Vandyke’s governing body currently has a vacancy for a parent governor.  The governing body comprises 20 governors. It meets as a full governing body each half-term and much of its work is carried out by a series of committees that meet in the weeks before each full governing body meeting.

As an academy, governors have responsibility for many things.  As well as making important strategic decisions about the school, governors aim to get to know the work of the school well and attend many of the school’s activities such as the recent Open Evening, concerts and awards evenings.

Vandyke’s governing body has a strong track record of effective strategic leadership and practical support for the school.  It operates with formality where this is required, but is acknowledged to be a friendly and welcoming group.

If you would like to put yourself forward as a parent governor or would like to find out more, please contact the clerk to the governing body, Barbara Britton, at school on 01525-636723 or by email to

The closing date for nominations is Friday 27 November 2015.
