Italy Trip

The day after we broke up for the long summer holiday, thirty-seven staff and students left England for a week long trip to see the sights of Tuscany in Central Italy. It was during one of the hottest weeks ever in Europe, with temperatures hitting dizzy 42°! We visited Florence, Pisa, San Gimignano, Siena and the hot springs of Saturnia, where we spend an afternoon at the Spa.

One of the many highlights of the trip was getting the chance to see Michaelangelo’s amazing statue of David and the truly majestic Siena Cathedral.

On the last morning we were treated to a masterclass in Italian pizza making by a gold medal winning chef.  All of the students got the chance to make their own pizza to eat for lunch,  it was then off for the flight back to what we hoped was going to be a warm and sunny UK. Arriving at Luton airport with temperatures of 15° and heavy rain, our thoughts quickly turned to when will the next Italy trip be and where will we visit next time!
