Art & Photography Exhibition

One of the highlights of Vandyke’s summer term is our annual Art Exhibition, this year held on the 24th June. It provides our many talented GCSE, AS and A level students with the perfect opportunity to display their coursework and exam pieces to family, friends and visitors. It is a lively, colourful and diverse exhibition showcasing the talents of students.

There was a wide range of work on display in response to coursework and exam themes. Students have had the opportunity to work across a broad range of disciplines including, painting, drawing, textiles, sculpture, digital media, ceramics, printmaking and multi-media. The exhibition was well attended by the parents, governors, staff and students and visitors from other schools, who were all impressed by the work of our talented students. It was a very busy evening with parents and visitors amazed by the range of work they saw.

Our Twitter feed was buzzing all night with Anne-Louise Quinton tweeting “In photography I particularly like the ceiling and geodesic domes”. A particular highlight this year was Sarah Harrington’s work 100x105cm French hayfield painting, an impressive mixed media acrylic piece.

“Vandyke end of year Art Exhibition gives students the opportunity to present their work to a very large audience and receive the much deserved recognition for all the hard work and dedication they have shown throughout their courses,” said Mrs Kirby. “We are extremely proud of the achievements made by all of them.”
