Music Showcase

On the 6th of May the Year 13 performing music group transformed into ‘The Red Hot Chili Peppers’ for one night only and gave stunning renditions of the band’s back catalogue. The mixed media performance comprised of a chronological programme, with documentary footage telling the story of the band’s journey, interspersed with red hot hits from each of the band’s albums. The group performed to a packed audience who screamed ‘hurrah’ and ‘hallelujah’, whooping and cheering as they left the theatre with a gleeful smile on their faces, twas as if nothing could dampen their spirits!

The band comprised of Seb Cridland with lead  vocals (and FX), Josh Flood-Powell on lead guitar, Karl Rushby on bass, Dan Holloway on drums and Jacob Shooter lighting design and control.

The Theatre was transformed with an impressive array of lights that were suspended from a separate scaffolding rig that was constructed on the stage that transported the band and audience to stratospheric heights. There were guitar solos, bass solos, drum solos and even a bit of interpretative dance. It was the bee’s knees!

The overall production was entirely professional, outstandingly presented with excellent musicality. If you missed it then the full video is on our website along with videos and portfolios from all of our events. It is well worth checking out.

Congratulations to the group for all of their effort with the show, and bring on the Year 12 event ‘A small view into the movie industry’ that will be in the school theatre on 16th June at 6.30pm, get your tickets now to avoid disappointment!
