Battle of the Bands

Following the in-house Battle of the Bands heats held in the drama studio, Year 12 band, Foreign Ground (Naomi Marrone, Chloe Ryan, Will Thomson, Harry Lowther, Seb Cridland and Karl Rushby) won the opportunity to perform at the Bedfordshire Battle of the Bands competition held at The Stables on 17th March.

Twelve Bedfordshire Upper Schools attended the prestigious event and had the chance to perform in a nationally recognised music venue. Each band performed two songs of their choice, before four bands were entered into a final round.

Foreign Ground performed Bruno Mars’ ‘Treasure’ in the final heat and were awarded fourth place; winning tickets to a local music festival and an opportunity to perform at the Bedfordshire Corn Exchange. Huge congratulations to Foreign Ground and all of the Vandyke bands who   entered – the organisers commented on the high standard of all the Vandyke bands they heard. Keep on gigging!

You can check out videos of the bands’ performances and lots of other compositions and performances on the Vandyke Music Department website:
