£1086 raised 4Aurora

A cheque for £1086 has been handed over to the charity 4Aurora, a cause very dear to the hearts of Year 13 student Bella Provenzano and her family.

The money was raised as part of Brain Tumour  Research’s Wear-a-Hat Day, with Sixth Formers invited to pay for the privilege of sporting the headwear of their choice, and students from the rest of school chipping in a fee to go ‘mufti’ for the day.

It was at Bella’s instigation that the fundraising event took place. Her family were devastated by the death of Bella’s younger sister Aurora in 2009, three years after she was diagnosed with a brain tumour and have since tried to gain something positive from the loss by setting up 4Aurora, to raise awareness and money for much-needed research
