Drama

MMA_VanDyke_2010_2_0401 “ All The World’s a stage,
And all the men and women merely players,
They have their exits and their entrances,
And one man in his time plays many parts.”
William Shakespeare,
As You Like It

Welcome to Vandyke Drama department!

You will certainly play many parts as you study drama here in our excellent purpose built studio and theatre!

We pride ourselves on our inclusive, energetic and fun approach to the study of drama here at Vandyke. Whether you are a new student in year nine or a more experienced drama student in year thirteen, you will have the opportunity to learn new skills, build on your existing knowledge of theatre, performance and production and also have the chance to perform in front of live audiences on a regular basis.

In Drama lessons you will learn about the performance, production and technical aspects of the theatre as well as increasing your experience and knowledge of acting styles and performance skills.

Highlights of our curricular work include our theatre trips and work with West End professionals and practitioners for GCSE and Level 3 BTEC students, and our high quality examination performances every year.

At Vandyke we also pride ourselves on our excellent examination results.

Recent Ofsted inspections confirmed what we already knew, that Performing Arts at Vandyke are a strength of our school!
