Academy status

Vandyke became an Academy on 1st August 2011, following a period of consultation with stakeholders including staff, students and parents. Academies are Government funded independent schools, free from local authority control. This means that the school benefits from having our whole school budget delegated to us instead of a proportion being top-sliced by the local authority to pay for centrally provided services; and we have greater autonomy over the running of our school in the best interests of our students.
The following documents set out our aims and objectives and the terms of our funding agreement with the DfE.  Click on the document to read it.
